365 Pause Practices – Day 95

ONE ~ THE BREATH

I shared on Sunday’s Pause Post about “The Faces of Inspiration”.
THE BREATH is ONE of these FACES and
IS a POWERFUL ENTRY POINT INTO THE PAUSE

~

Do you ever listen to your breath?

It reflects the Quiet Whisper of Inspiration.

Being present with our natural breathing is calming;

Inspiration is a calm quiet.

~

Here Is A Breath Practice You Can Use
Anywhere, Any Time, Right Now!

Close your eyes and focus on your natural breath now.

Invite Inspiration into your heart and mind;

into your awareness.

Inhale Peace of Mind, Exhale Gratitude.

Let go and receive the Quiet Within

page 172

As I am using this Breath Practice today for Help Pausing

  • Ideas for my work are flowing
  • I am not having to force ideas with brainstorming
  • Creativity is pouring forth with practical application
  • For example, I am receiving helpful ideas for Pause Training the Trainer
  • I am seeing things that need to be taken care of
  • I am seeing what I can delegate
  • I am delegating
  • My energy is good and stable
  • Totally focused
  • Clarity
  • JOY

365 Pause Practices – Day 94

Grateful to Mary Kirkou for the above artwork on most posts!

The Grace of Gratitude

practicing gratitude re-MINDed me of

SOMETHING ESSENTIAL

In my quieting pause this morning, gratitude filtered its way into my
beingness! It was quite exciting.
Sure I consider myself a grateful person
and in this pause, I expressed my gratefulness for my new tax guy,
my brothers, our Pause helpers, yet this was unique in that
I was opened from within to a BIGGER GRATITUDE if you will.

In this experience, I was shown that being grateful is important
as it allows LOVE to enter more fully into my awareness
in the ordinariness of daily life. When my new tax
guy showed up I felt a deep sense of peace and calm.
With taxes? How cool is that?

Beyond that, I find the current events of this world, to be
strikingly disturbing in that darkness is making itself known
on a bigger scale.

A SLIPPERY SLOPE

Yet, I LEARNED in this pause, to not be pulled into
the darkness, the fear, the hate, while I am observing it.

ONE WAY WE CAN KEEP FROM BEING
PULLED INTO DARKNESS

Practice gratitude because gratitude will keep me
aware of LOVE and my part in LOVE’s extension.

Part of my part is simply to be grateful.

Inspiration Is Universal

The Faces of Inspiration are Many,
Including Yours

No one is without Inspiration as Inspiration is with us from our
beginning; caressing the faces of all, showering its Peace upon them.
In friends and foes, in all kinds, lie the Faces of Inspiration.

“Be willing to see with Me,” says Inspiration, “and I will seek you out
so that you may see all there is to see. I see faces blemished, dirty,
disguised, and filled with disgust; I see faces angry, lustful, and
missing teeth; I see faces filled with sorrow or pretense ~ yet beyond
all of this, I see you.”

You have the power to see when you choose to see with Me.
page 168 pause yellow book

In forthcoming posts, I will share about the
Faces of Inspiration that I received because they
help me with the challenges and opportunities
of daily living.

Though there is only One Spirit of Peace, it is lovely enough to come to us in ways each one of us will understand, identify with, and experience ~ Inspiration will extend itself to us in myriad ways.

Inspired Self-Care

Late one night about 12 years
ago, the Faces of Inspiration
came into my awareness. I felt Inspiration to share that my

Inspired Heart∞Mind

is calling me to care for these
faces of Inspiration. “To care”
meaning “to be mindful of, to take heed.”

Perhaps you will find it helpful to pause here and contemplate
ways that you may be mindful of
how Inspiration is communicating within you and through the faces
of others.

Remember Being A Kid?

Sometimes I feel like a kid ~ for better or for worse!

Childhood. Sure, some of it we would just as soon forget.

I REMEMBER:

summer breezes in my hair on my bike flying down a hill

smelling my mother’s authentic Italian cooking

splashing our bare feet in the puddles after the rain

waiting at the front door for my dad to get home late from his second job

family trips to the local dairy ~ ice cream cones & milk in glass bottles

raking leaves with my father

exploring the woods ~ hiding under the weeping willow

WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER ABOUT BEING A KID?

How about feeling stuck, angry, embarrassed, shy, bullied, left out????

As adults, we can still feel these feelings.

Not only does PAUSE share KIDS CAN PAUSE with kids,
I also recommend this super simple practice to adults ~
for those times when the kid in us needs guidance.

USE THIS KIDS PRACTICE YOURSELF or SHARE WITH THE KIDS IN YOUR LIFE!

WHAT’S ON BACK

What Will Today’s Kids Remember?

I don’t think I am being sentimental in this question. I am not wanting kids today to have my idea of childhood. I am wanting kids today to have a childhood.

Being a child is hands-on, digging into life, wondering, asking questions, exploring what’s right in front of you. . . I recognize kids are exploring the internet, but isn’t something missing?

And what about feelings?

Perhaps a Pause?

Inspiration In Motion

Read my story below “Who Is This Crazy Woman?”

We have spoken of the stillness we can find in Inspiration,
yet Inspiration also inspires us into action!
I imagine we all experience those moments in which
we feel moved into action ~ moved to say or do something.
We are moved to respond as opposed to reacting
from anger, fear, or out of guilt.
As we respond to this Inspired inner motion, inner nudge,
we become INSPIRATION IN MOTION.

Who Is This Crazy Woman?

I am not recommending anyone go around doing this.
This wasn’t done out of good intention or thinking I have
magical powers . . . I was Truly Moved into Inspired Action!

Who Is This Crazy Woman?

I am walking down in the Central West End and hear a child screaming. Turning my head I see a mother aggressively slapping her one-year-old as she yanks her out of the van. I came to a halt on the sidewalk, in a pause, listening. Do I walk by as if I don’t see anything? How do I respond?

As if a bolt of lightning struck me over the head I was catapulted into action. Feeling completely safe, I approached the mother exclaiming, “Stop beating that child!” Her reaction, “This is my child and I’ll do whatever I want!” Suddenly I hear myself saying, “That is not your child. That is God’s child and you are God’s child too. Maybe you were treated this way as a child and I am sorry if you were, but please don’t do the same with your child.” She and her female companion were speechless.

If that wasn’t enough, as they got back into their van (which was parked, motor not running), I stood about 12 feet in front of them and made a motion of blessing in my white poncho that spread out like an angel’s wings (I didn’t realize this until later). Peering through the windshield, their eyes opened wide, their mouths dropped open, and I walked across the street continuing my day.

Pause Is A Present HOPE

Hope is experiencing that all is well right now ~
not because of something spectacular that you have
accomplished in your past or have yet to accomplish,

Responding to Suffering

our own and others

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Grace can and has been revealed to me in my suffering as

I am willing to receive the help grace extends.

Tears are a bridge across the waters of darkness.

In this human experience, we will suffer. This is part of the human
condition. We can be too quick to avoid suffering, to push it away, label
it as weak, tell others to “Get on with your life” prematurely, which will inevitably lead to more suffering for ourselves and others.

~ ~ ~

Suffering is an opportunity to open to help.

Suffering is a call to look within

at our inner darkness and how it causes outer darkness.

This world is not a separate entity making itself!

I am playing my part in making up the world.

Thankfully, we can let LOVE reveal itself to us in our suffering,

in our grief, in our joy that eventually comes, and in one another because

We Are All Sealed by All~Encompassing LOVE.

Suffering is not wrong, unenlightened,

or something to feel ashamed of or to judge in

ourselves or another.

365 Pause Practices – Day 88

Needing to Be Right is a Losing Battle

most of the time

So many of our everyday interactions and communications relate to the need to point out to another person, “I’m right and you’re wrong.” Somehow, someway
we want to find a way to shame that person, to put another down, to
let someone know they screwed up. I know you know what I mean!

YES, there are situations in that I truly want to stand up for

what is Safe, Kind, Wise, and Truly Helpful.

Hopefully, I Paused for the Wisdom of My Helpful Self first!

Applying The Pause Practice when I INSIST ON BEING RIGHT or when I am
on the end of SOMEONE ELSE NEEDING TO PROVE THEY’RE RIGHT, is
proving to be VASTLY HELPFUL. Sometimes I’ve had to experience not using
Pause only to discover I wish I had. We have worthless habits to UNLEARN
and worthy habits to LEARN.

Do Your Self a Favor.
Use Pause Already!!!
I speak from a lifetime of experience of
not pausing vs. Practicing The Pause.

Need to be Right!

We have all DONE IT & been DONE IN by it – right?

  • Voice gets louder
  • Head nods side-to-side
  • Eyes roll
  • Trying to explain when the other person doesn’t want to hear
  • Realizing I’ve done this before without success
  • Attempts to be rational to a person who’s stuck in irrational; who’s which?
  • Sending emails, texts, voicemails back and forth justifying behavior
  • Wasting time
  • Slamming doors
  • Trying to change and/or control another person &/or situation. LOLOL
  • Maybe I’m not right
  • If I admit I made a mistake, I’ll feel ashamed, embarrassed, less than, and what do I do with that?
  • The shame we don’t look at and heal, we project/vomit onto others so we don’t have to change
  • Hostility, expressed or repressed, takes a huge toll on physical health, mental state, & relationships
  • How does needing to be right, over usually insignificant stuff, affect the meaning of my life? For better or worse?

Why turn ridiculousness into more ridiculousness?

Letting Go Of Needing to Be Right

  • One day in a moment of needing to be right, I heard my Inspired Self in a pause say, “Mary, is this how you want to use your energy?” NO!
  • I receive an email trying to point the finger at me. In a pause, I find myself called to show compassion for this person and maybe myself who are stressed. In a pause, my response is kind. I’m not pushing my feelings down; as I am compassionate towards another, I reap the benefits myself.
  • Save time!
  • Even if I am “right” is my “winning” this battle truly going to change anything? Isn’t it ego?
  • Is there another way to see this?
  • What would be truly helpful now?
  • A huge weight is lifted off my mind and body
  • Wellbeing is worth it; for everyone involved
  • Life has meaning when I get out of my own way and allow Wisdom to show me the way.
  • Whoever is needing to be “right”, often it is a call for LOVE ~ Real LOVE ~ not the “Oh, I love you” kind of love today, and “Oh, I hate you” kind of “love” tomorrow.
  • Let LOVE, love you
  • Let LOVE, love the other person even though you disagree

Step Aside

The decision to invite Inner Stillness to Help

Allow stillness to replace the chatter.

Rest in quiet patience.

Open to receiving Stillness.

Put forth your questions, thoughts, feelings, and concerns about
anyone, anything appearing large or small, important or
seemingly unimportant.

Am I willing to ask Inner Stillness:

“Is there another way to see this?”

“What would be truly helpful now?”

Listen to Stillness.

This is an invitation to receive my Inner Wisdom;

Wherever I am, whatever I am doing, whomever I am with.

EVERYDAY OPERATIONS

pages 187 – 188 Pause Yellow Book Download

The cubicle self is
Unaware of The Pause:

  • I bolt into the day with MY agendas or dread the day with or without an agenda
  • I waste time EXPLAINING my behavior
  • No one is listening to ME
  • No one receives help
  • I think I know what’s best
  • I am sick of hearing myself judge others
  • I focus on OBSTACLES. I could but, I was going to but, but what if? But, but, but, but, but, but, but. I have a really big “but”
  • I exercise regularly by JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS
  • I am a PUPPET of personalities forming my behavior in REACTION to people’s personalities. I am personality-focused
  • I take one thought and make up an entire story around it – ALL FICTION
  • I am TOO BUSY to be inspiring
  • I can’t do this 24/7
  • I am satisfied enough with the STATUS QUO WOE
  • I make ASSumptions and more assumptions; another reason I have a really big “BUT”.
  • I am sleeping on the job

Your Inspired Self Is
In The Pause

  • I move into the day willing to receive and share INSPIRATION WITHIN
  • I pause from explaining that involves complaining
  • I AM LISTENING to WISDOM
  • I AM HELPING THE WORLD
  • I get out of my own way
  • I can see others with my Inner Wisdom
  • I see OPPORTUNITIES to experience INSPIRED SOLUTIONS and BE TRULY HELPFUL
  • I exercise regularly by stepping back, stepping aside, and letting INSPIRATION GUIDE
  • I am Person~REALITY focused. I LOOK AT ANOTHER and SEE THEIR INSPIRED SELF BEYOND
    THEIR PERSONALITY
  • I TAKE THE ONE THOUGHT OF WILLINGNESS and LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF INSPIRATION
  • BEING IN THE MOMENT DOES NOT TAKE UP TIME – IT SAVES TIME
  • I AM WILLING IN THIS MOMENT
  • SATISFACTION IS ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED
  • NO LOOKING BEHIND. HERE I AM IN THIS NOW MOMENT
  • I AM YOUR WAKE UP CALL
