Shake The Dust From Your Feet

Dust and Trust

There comes a time to let go of wanting situations and people to be
something other than they are. There comes a time for me to open
to a renewing of my mind.

I find peace when I “Step Aside” and receive the LOVE that is ready
when I am willing to receive it. For this to happen I need to be
willing to deepen my focus on inner peace, to stop directing the
scene, watching, and performing the same unhelpful behaviors –
mine and others. I can’t change another, but I can Pause, Step
Aside, Shake the Dust from My Feet, and Trust LOVE, loves me; in
this practice, I can begin to experience a renewing of my mind.

Have I hired myself as the Director of the scenes?
Sometimes I observe myself auditioning LOVE
but casting the ego. LOVE may get a callback!

Easier Said Than Done

I am not saying this is easy, yet it’s easier than repeating
the same old, same old that only steals my PEACE and
robs me of my JOY. I’ll share a Pause Practice:

Let Breath Come Into My Awareness

~

Notice my feelings

~

Is this scene a repetitive scenario?

~

Is it helpful or unhelpful?

~

Am I expecting a different outcome while clinging to my same
ways of thinking, saying, and doing?

~

Breathe

~

Shake the dust from my feet. Loosen my grip to cease clinging.

~

Let LOVE show me

Another Way.

~

Let the Breath of Wisdom breathe in me, with me, and

through me.

~

LOVE will lead the way.

I Trust LOVE to direct my path into Peace

for only Peace will renew my mind.

Rest Is An Act of LOVE In You

Above artwork by Mary Kirkou ~ Words from Pause Yellow Book

Rest Your Restless Mind?

How do I know if my mind is not functioning at its best? Here are some hints:

Being defensive

Verbally attacking

Speaking & acting out of jealousy

Criticizing self &/or others

Perfectionism

Making excuses/justifying our words and behavior

Explaining and Complaining

Taking things personally

Body aches and pains

Emotional reactivity

When I practice Pause, my mind comes to rest for help with communicating clearly and openly. What a difference it makes when I am willing to pause and ask Inner Wisdom, “How can I see this person differently?” “How can I be truly helpful to this person?” “Is this communication worth a pause?”

The Pause Practice is a way to rest one’s mind
before galivanting around in there without pausing!!! LOL

I share the KIDS CAN PAUSE PRACTICE today because when we
feel RESTLESS, it TRIGGERS THE KID IN US. CLICK ON THE CARD.

Inspiration
Inspires A Sense of Ease

Ease dissolves mental & bodily tension

Above artwork by Mary Kirkou ~ Words from Pause Yellow Book

The Path of Least Resistance

This does not mean everything we are INspired to do will be easy; it
may be quite challenging and we will come upon obstacles and
difficulties, yet like a bird soaring through the trees we can stubbornly
crash into the tree forcefully attempting it to move or we can
remember “ease” and fly around the tree. What may appear to be a
circuitous path is a direct path into Peace (pg. 165).

Apply a Mindset of EASE with Anything!

Ease UP!

Today I noticed I was rushing and wrestling with the laundry wanting to get on to the next thing causing myself tension. Why do we do this to ourselves? Is this how I want to use my energy? Do I want my mind all in knots just like wet clothes? NOOOOOO. I paused and said to myself, “Mary, slow down, you can do laundry with ease.”

NEED SOME EASE?

The Pause Practice is learned best when applied to some specific
daily task or communication because this is where
ego impatience and defensiveness dig its heels in!

Choose a task in which you get annoyed or a
person with whom you become defensive and use
Pause Practice shown below.

7 Ways to Recognize Inspiration
in Your Everyday Life

When I am willing to Pause for Inspiration, I notice the stark contrast between dispiritedness and Inspiration.

Ease dissolves mental and bodily tension

Stillness overcomes inner and outer chatter

Moved into helpful action, away from unhelpful action

Wholeness, connectedness instead of a pile of disconnected parts.

Comfort finds its way in, so I can peacefully look at what’s making me uncomfortable

Lightening up helps with being productive; instead of being
wound up

My strongest strength is gentle, a letting go; not a push/pull

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

7 Qualities of Inspiration

Ease

Stillness

Moving

Integration

Comforting

Effortlessness

Gentle Strength

UP & COMING

I will be sharing more about how we can practice being willing to let Inspiration provide for our health, wellbeing, and peace of mind in everyday life.

The Power of Loving Myself ~

it’s the only way I will be able to love others.

The Power of Letting LOVE love me ~
it’s the only way I will be able to love myself.

Continued from yesterday’s “Words Can’t Be Unsaid”

What holds greater value to you: saying what is on your mind or minding
what is on your mind before it works its way to your lips? The words we
speak over ourselves or another can impale the spell of death or infuse
awareness of Life (pg. 20-21 Complementary Pause Yellow Book).

Are You Compassionate With Yourself?

Only your True Self can experience compassion and be compassionate
towards yourself and others as it is your True Self that extends the LOVE
that is the root of all true compassion.

True LOVE is Safe, Wise, Helpful, and Compassionate

You are not lacking in LOVE, and
LOVE is not lacking in you.
Yet, it is your choice to Pause and Let LOVE, love you.

In receiving LOVE you will become aware of the abundance of LOVE within you and within others.

Draw from this Abundance as you speak wise words over
others and yourself.

Oops!

Pause Before I Say Something That

Can’t Be Unsaid

We’ve all been on both sides of this equation!

Something She Said

When I was a little girl, someone with whom I was very close, said something to me in the heat of a disagreement that I still haven’t forgotten. She said, “You’re just like _____. I knew she hated that person so I felt cursed somehow, if you will, hated by someone I loved.

It would be years later as I grew older and wiser that I understood her words came from fear – a very specific fear. Thankfully, I forgave her long ago which released me from any “curse” or any sense of separation from this person.

Something I Said

The other day Inner Wisdom helped me to remember something I said to someone years ago in a moment without a pause. As the words leaped out of my mouth, I knew it was a hurtful thing to say. I let them whirl out of my mouth anyway!

Two reasons Wisdom stepped in are to re-Mind me TODAY, to:

Pause before speaking unhelpful words as they come up in my mind.

and

To forgive myself so that I am not carrying this around, weighing myself down.

TO BE CONTINUED TOMORROW!

Get Up On Your Horse and Ride

The Work Begins With You!

I was flooded with a passion to help and heal people. Then, Wisdom spoke, “The work begins with you! Eventually, you will be teaching people how to heal themselves and learning to heal yourself at the same time.”
“My immediate thought was:

“I hate to have to do self-work. It is so much harder because it requires discipline and commitment.”

Calling On Wisdom

The words I am hearing being spoken to me from Wisdom are,

“Calling On Goodness”.

We all can be willing to access Goodness. I am not moved to try and define “Goodness” because deep within, I imagine we all know what it is.

When The Pause Crew goes out into

the world to share and teach “How to Pause,”

we encounter Goodness.

My Frame of Mind Needs A Change of Mind

TODAY I AM TEACHING WHAT I AM STILL LEARNING.

Awareness of my frame of mind and how it drives my doing.

Yesterday afternoon my frame of mind was getting the best of me, so I used The Pause 4 Decisions Practice to get into my right mind. As I was willing to experience a shift, I saw how in taking orders from my cubicle mind to, “Get it done” I had lost my Peace. My body was tense, I was probably holding my breath, my cubicle mindset was shoving me around with its boxed beliefs about what I must do, and the result was feeling like I just stepped out of the ring. As I opened to receiving Help, I became aware of a Peaceful Presence within; I simply needed to shift my focus away from warped thinking to this Peace. Peace is now my starting point for all doing. I will forget throughout the day, need to re-Pause, connect with Peace, and begin again. Pause is a Practice!

I am inviting you to practice Peace as well.
Together we can perform our daily operations with Peace.
I have already begun today and am glad I did. It may not be easy.
Pause says:

“Relax into it. Give thanks that you are not required to
operate in this world by your own strength.
It is not that you do not have strength, for you do,
thus to rely on something you call “strength” that you have
mustered up all by your lonesome, is not your real strength.
Strong are those who allow themselves to receive the help of Inner Wisdom.”

page 21 Pause Yellow Book

Inspired doing is to act with enthusiasm and fortitude that comes from LOVE; all other doing is self-fabrication. It’s true. Even doing the dishes in your own strength is to believe that the self you made up is more powerful and valuable than the Self you have been given.

Here is The Cubicle Mindset!

I don’t have what I want, what I do have is not what I want.
I want more of something like what I have, but a different
version of it that’s somehow better.
I can’t find what I want, but I’ll keep looking.

You Want Chaos? I’ll Give You Chaos!

A Phone Conversation ~ From Chaos to Pause

I picked up the phone to convey some necessary information to someone and clarify
some things. The person on the other end suddenly becomes all emotional and
upset about what I see as a basic transfer of information, no big deal.

Chaos is erupting and my first impulse is, “You want chaos, I’ll give you chaos!” Then
I thought, “No, wait a minute, I have a tool to deal with this – The Pause!”

I begin practicing The Pause in my mind. As I do so, I let this person rant and rave
and notice I am choosing not to react; I am becoming more and more calm and
clear. As I become more calm, I address this person’s complaints with clarity and
reason. In a matter of a couple of minutes, this person begins calming down, I
answer their questions with clarity and convey the information I need to convey.

WHAT I LEARNED

Pausing for Inner Peace provides Wisdom that overcomes fear-driven
irrational thinking and emotional outbursts.
